The V-SAM re-profiles the ignition timing to squeeze more power from the engine. This is possible because the standard ignition settings on the FTO are designed for use with any quality of unleaded fuel available. If good quality fuel from reputable service stations is used (unleaded or super-unleaded) the ignition timing can be changed to release more power and more torque throughout the rev-range.
The V-SAM for the FTO has been developed using Racelogic's in house BOSCH rolling road, and on the road testing. They have done many test runs on the rolling road, with both the GPX and the GR to optimise the timing to gain maximum power and torque. The result has been between 8 BHP gain on the GR and 9-10 BHP on the GPX
The V-SAM is supplied with plugs that allow the unit to be plugged straight into the original loom connector and ECU connector, making fitment a 5 minute DIY job. It also means the unit can be unplugged and the car put back to standard in minutes.
