This is a guide to help new buyers of the FTO (Fresh Touring Origination) ensure that the car is as advertised and assist them in determining the overall condition and fitness of the vehicle being sold.
This is an amateur guide, produced from the collective experiences of current owners.
Because the vehicles were never officially imported into untill mid 2001 most of the information has been derived from experience and websites , so there may be some inaccuracies and missing information.
The rule of thumb should be that if you are in any doubt as to the general roadworthiness or mechanical health of a vehicle then have it inspected by a qualified body – such as the AA car check service.
